So today I was digging into this whole ed2 school transfer thing cause a friend asked about it. Figured I'd actually go through the motions myself step by step since people keep talking about how "simple" it is.

I pulled up the main application site - man that webpage looks like it hasn't changed since dial-up days. Couldn't even find a clear "start here" button anywhere. Had to click three different "resources" links before stumbling into the actual form. Already annoyed.
The Nitty Gritty Process
Tried filling out the first section asking for basic info. Address? Fine. Phone number? Whatever. Then it asks for high school codes like they're secret cheat combos. Had to open another browser window to search some obscure database for the right number. Why can't they just let me type the school name like a normal person?
- Got halfway through and hit a dropdown for "course equivalencies" - total gibberish categories I didn't understand.
- Called the help desk, waited 20 minutes listening to elevator music.
- Lady tells me "just match it to your transcript codes." My transcripts use totally different abbreviations!
Spent the next hour cross-referencing papers at my kitchen table like some detective. Coffee went cold three times. Finally guessed on half the dropdowns just to move forward.
The Final Disaster
Upload section straight up froze when I tried adding PDFs. Tried smaller files - nope. Different browser - nada. Almost threw my laptop. Finally got error messages saying "system maintenance every Tuesday 9am-5pm." Who does maintenance ALL DAMN DAY? Couldn't even finish submitting.
Later learned from a teacher friend this is why districts use it: transfers get so complicated most folks just give up. The mess keeps enrollment numbers stable. Felt like I'd been played the whole time - left hand doesn't know what the right hand's doing while both are taking my lunch money.
Moral of the story? Systems don't get this broken by accident. They're designed to make you quit. Guess I'm just too stubborn for my own good.
